Digital Rights Management, that nasty bit of coding in an audio file that limits where and how you can play and copy the file may be on it's last legs.  Amazon and Wal-Mart have come out against it. What else can the big 4 do but drop it?

new Radiohead album actually paid money for it.  It's all very interesting but Radiohead already has an established audience.  What happens when your neighborhood garage band tries to make it big using this model?

Another Artist Releases Online

Saul Williams new album "The Inevitable Rise and Liberty of Niggy Tardust" is being released on line.  You can get lower res MP3s for free and the audiophiles among you can pay $5 for the high res stuff. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame produced the album.  Don't be surprised if the next NIN album is released in a similar fashion.

Oregon Helps Fight RIAA

There's some legal rumbling up in Oregon.  The bottom line is the University of Oregon is giving the RIAA the finger because they are asking for identities of student downloaders.
